New School Year New Beginnings

Dear Diary September 1st 2008

Today was the first day of school and I was totally excited. When I woke up this morning my dad greeted me with a smile, hug and my favorite breakfast eggs bacon toast and fresh fruit. As I ate my breakfast my dad and I talked about the new school year.

“Are you sure you want to stay at this school Sam because I can arrange homeschooling for you if you would prefer?”

“What no way I’ll be fine Dad.”

“Alight well if you’re sure then I guess I better go warm up the car so we aren’t late getting you to school. While I’m gone please clean up your breakfast dishes and put them in the dishwasher instead of the sink.”

“Okay dad.”

As we drove to school my dad and I listened to the radio and I became more and more excited. When we got to school my dad waved goodbye and I walked inot the building with the other kids. Once I was inside the building I headed to the office, got my locker and homeroom assignment. After homeroom was over I went to my classes and so far, this year looks like it is going to be a good school year despite everything that happened last year. My friends are in all my classes except for resource support.

Fortunately none of the stuck-up Rollerblade Hockey team are in my classes so I won’t have to worry about any awkward moments with them. The first class I had today was Composition and Grammar. The teacher Mr. Cornfield is strict and I am not so sure I am going to be able to pass the class but I am determined to work hard so we will see how things go. The next class I want to was Geometry with Mr. Bertstone. He was funny but a little nerdy and seems to really like geometry which I guess is a good thing since he is teaching it.

After Geometry my friends and I had Ceramics with Mr. Goldfinestone. He was nice but I’m not sure if I appreciated the way he was looking at my top. After Ceramics I went to Gym and then it was lunch time. At lunch I sat with my friends and we talked and gossiped. As we were talking and gossiping Carly and her gang of followers came up to our table. Fortunately there wasn’t any room for them at the table. They just stood there staring at us until finally I couldn’t take it anymore and I stood up and told them what was on my mind.

“Can we help you ladies with something?”

“Hi Sam, nice to see you too, so you know that whole you don’t want to talk about your past thing? Well we decided that it’s time for you to share why you came to our school and we aren’t taking no for an answer. You know that talking about your past will help you feel better and help you move on.
